I am David and since May 2008 I have been organizing shows in Montreal, Quebec, Canada under the name the grand theft ottoman empire. So far we have done/we will do shows for bands like Tera Melos (Sargent House/Temporary Residence), Lymbyc System (Magic Bullet), Maps and Atlases (Sargent House) Olafur Arnalds (Erased Tapes), Luke Envoy (FWD / Tempa / Hotflush), Romance of Young Tigers (Magic Bullet), So Many Dyamos (Vagrant), Arms and Sleepers (Expect Candy), Gifts From Enola (Mylene Sheath), Junius (Radar Recordings), Please Don't Put Charles on the Money (ex Godspeed you black emperor, exhaust), Tunturia (Valkyre), Thisquietarmy (Killer Pimp/Elevation/Foreshadow), Irepress (Boston), the Baltic Sea (Ericrock) and others. We have also established ourselves as the official Canadian bookers for Balmorhea (Western Vinyl, Canadian tour March 2010) and Romance of Young Tigers (Montreal + Toronto March of 2009, future CDN shows to come). The intention of this blog is to serve as a website for TGTOE and to give updates, news, show announcements, to show some photos, and so forth.
